Synopsis:

Big-Little takes as its starting point a recurring childhood dream: a sphere that expands beyond comprehension, and a task that cannot be completed. The harder the dreamer tries to pierce it, the faster it grows.

The work began when I came across an Instagram post visualising the same dream. Beneath it, 17,000 strangers described having the same dream, each with their own variations.

The installation recreates the dream as an AI-generated film, viewed through a Fresnel lens at close range. The image changes depending on where the viewer stands. The accompanying sound is composed around a Shepard tone, an auditory illusion of continuous ascent that never resolves.
